"I was interested to see how this Belling range cooker compared to my favourite of all time cookers. This cooker consists of 5 gas burners including a central wok burner, an electric grill, and two electric fan ovens.
The width is 90cm making it an attractive focal point that doesn’t overwhelm my medium-sized kitchen. The design is tasteful with clean black edges and silver handles and detail. I was surprised at how light the doors feel, yet they are in no way flimsy. The knobs too have a light feel, but are still solid, look good, and are delightfully smooth to turn giving an ease to heat adjustment.
The display clock/timer is set behind a glass touch screen that can also be used to programme the cooking times, and there is also a ‘lock’ feature that can be activated by holding the ‘+’ for a few seconds.
An exciting feature on this range is the ‘slow cook’, which means you can put your food in the oven before you go out and arrive home to beautifully cooked meal. There is also a ‘defrost’ option that massively decreases usual defrost times.
The variable grill cavity has a 5 adjustable shelf height. It grills both evenly and quickly. The main oven is below the grill, so a little awkward if wanting to open the door whilst using the grill, but not impossible. The other larger oven can cook up to a whopping 86 litres, so great for large households or entertaining. Both have fans, which I found speeded up cooking times immensely. Cooking is also even throughout the oven no matter what shelf the food is put on, so may affect how you cook if you’re used to putting something that needs less cooking on a lower shelf.
The main oven also has a clear glass section (that can be removed for cleaning) and makes it easy to see how well your food is cooking, especially as it cooks so quickly!
I am very happy with this dual fuel cooker. It is my first range cooker, which means I finally had space to cook everything with ease, which surprisingly made cooking less stressful. I really love the large oven, so everything can be served hot without the need to reheat and with the extra fast cooking times this low energy rated ‘A/A’ range cooker should be saving money too.
