Great dishwasher

"Recently purchased a Bosch dishwasher from AO after looking at various styles, makes and prices, we decided that the best we could find was from AO.

It’s a great dishwasher with many functions and has a large capacity also it can be operated via my phone.

It was easy to fit and connect. "

Product is well made. It was relatively easy to install - DIY.

QR code installation video steps were quite useful and a nice touch.

It operates quietly and is simple enough to use.

However...

We bought this dishwasher for it's "A" energy rating and environmental credentials, paying a fat premium for the privilege. Approx. £300 more than "B" rated equivalents"

Irritatingly it is only "A" energy efficient In economy mode. Unfortunately in that mode, it doesn't seem to dry the load perfectly nor does it seem to get all items clean. There is usually some cutlery and/or mug or random dish with grit, grim etc left on. You may shout "poor packing" but I'm conscientious about that, space things out, clear off loose debris, and usually the dishwasher isn't completely full.

Running it with a more intensive less energy efficient mode provides excellent results but defeats the purpose of the purchase and the premium paid. Our previous cheap Bosch 15 year old dishwasher did as good a job as this top range appliance.

The baskets offer plenty of variation, but (in my opinion) -

Top cutlery tray could be less robust - i.e. have less plastic so that more water can get to the cutlery.

Middle tray could have greater angles to base as water tends to pool in base of upturned cups, mugs, glasses and bowls and this does not dry off. This then spills on crockery etc below if not careful.

And lastly - who needs a dishwasher that connects to your phone... App downloaded, device connected, features mulled over, tech never never used - totally redundant. That's a waste of R&D

Oh wait, apart from turning off internal door activated light when dishwasher not "on". Like why have these options in the first place...?

In summary - A good dishwasher, well built, broadly does the job. However drying tech is not as great as it's made out to be, Economy mode is not brilliant at cleaning thereby undermining energy efficiency claim. Premium paid for "A" energy rating a complete waste of money because the appliance will be used on a less efficient more effective mode. I should have bought the similar "B" rated appliance. "
